In Review

2011 was quite a busy years. Babies were born!!! Interestingly, all the babies born into my life this year were boys.

I played with friends.

Enjoyed our last family vacation as five in St. Joe, Michigan.

Spent some quality time in The District with my college roomie & bestie:

A couple of my favorite, dearest friends finally got married, and Kaye & Chad’s wedding was gorgeous:

Enjoyed my hometown, rediscovering our amazing zoo, having my artwork hung (and sold!) at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and becoming a devoted patron of such fabulous places as Firefly, Yum-Mees Bakery, the Acme Bar & Grill, Club Soda and Cocktails:

Displayed & SOLD at FWMoA:

Oh yeah, and my little sister got married, giving me another brother!!!  Here are Andrew & Maria, and my little brother, Zach, and I:

Lastly, I spent a few days in Manhattan, enjoying the Christmas sights and sounds of New York City with my aunts.  Here’s a teaser, but more on all that, later:

The year ahead is bringing a job promotion, a few exciting weddings, and some special graduations. I’m going into the new year with the hope that it is far better than this past one. Blessings to you all, and thanks for your continued faithfulness in following my sporadic posts! 🙂

A Year In Review

I’m terrible with resolutions, so I’m not making any this year.  Instead, I’m reflecting on a year of ups and downs, focusing more on the ups, however big or small they were.

My parents have continued to lovingly welcome me to live in their home, rent-free.  They’re pretty awesome.

I was able to celebrate my Baba’s 80th birthday with her:

I reunited with my dear former apartment-mates, Meggie, Amy, and Casey  in Chicago.  Through the wonders of technology, we were joined by Whitney in Bulgaria, via Skype.

I’ve been able to spend more time with dear friends, like Megan & Valerie.

I celebrated the weddings of many special people this past year, including:

Tom & Christine Chiaccio

Ben & Kerrie Taylor

Steve & Cortney Conn

Zach & Janelle Taylor

I’ve rejoiced with loved ones who have brought new life into the world.  Welcome to the babies!!!

Isaiah!

Skylar!

Baby Theresa, whom I do not yet have a picture!  Babies yet to arrive are Baby Oakleaf and Baby Constantino, and I’m excited for them all.

I’ve become a member of a church plant that has given me a huge family to be a part of, and they bless me immensely.

I’ve met a world of bloggers who are artists, cooks, writers, and thinkers, and they continue to inspire and delight me each day.  Basically, 2010 was about reconnecting with people.  People can be the worst part of your day, but they are also what makes life most beautiful.

Cort & Danger

*I’m working on paintings like I’m actually getting paid for it right now, so another entry of photos and my adventures will have to suffice for now.

Mama & I head to Chicago for Steve & Cortney’s wedding!  *I was not driving at this point.

The ceremony was outdoors.  Except for the humidity, it was gorgeous.

Steve & Cortney chose to do a sand ceremony instead of a unity candle.  I’m seeing more and more couples do this at their weddings.

My little sister, a stunning bridesmaid:

Cort shares a special moment with her dad…

Vows!  Steve cried a lot, which made everyone else cry.

Performing the sand ceremony:

The kiss……

…obviously their favorite part.

Maria and Andrew (her boyfriend).  I’m fairly confident that he cried, too. 🙂

The reception was lovely and so fun.  I love weddings involving college friends.  The cake was awesome, the dancing was fun, and Mama and I had a great time back at the hotel, bonding over wine and books.  As we crossed the Illinois border, we knew we were back in the heartland, where the weather changes every fifteen minutes, when we saw this sky:
